Flooring Maths: Fixed-Orientation Board Quantities

Flooring Maths: Fixed-Orientation Board Quantities

Original quantitative topic practice in English. All 24 questions are included in a shuffled order. Each question supplies its own data and model assumptions; use only those assumptions. Choose one answer. Practice target: 20/24, not an official examination pass mark. Keep full intermediate precision. These exercises cover the calculation scope in the title; they do not constitute a full Red Seal examination, trade qualification, site design or operating specification.

A rectangular room is 5300×3850 mm. Leave the supplied 10 mm perimeter gap at every wall. Boards are 1200×190 mm and run along the room length. Rows are parallel, with a cut final row. In each row use full boards followed by at most one cut end board. Do not reuse any offcuts; ignore kerf. Joint staggering and installation suitability are outside this quantity exercise. Calculate the usable width in mm. Keep intermediate values unrounded; round the final answer to 4 decimal places if needed.
