Cabinet Maths: Drawer Boxes from Given Slide Allowances

Cabinet Maths: Drawer Boxes from Given Slide Allowances

Original quantitative topic practice in English. All 24 questions are included in a shuffled order. Each question supplies its own data and model assumptions; use only those assumptions. Choose one answer. Practice target: 20/24, not an official examination pass mark. Keep full intermediate precision. These exercises cover the calculation scope in the title; they do not constitute a full Red Seal examination, trade qualification, site design or operating specification.

The drawer opening is 700 mm wide. Supplied slide data require 12.5 mm clearance on EACH side. A drawer box has two 15 mm thick sides; front and back panels fit between them. External box depth is 500 mm and external height 200 mm. A 6 mm thick bottom fits inside the box, reducing internal height. Ignore grooves and joints. Calculate the inset bottom area in square metres. Keep intermediate values unrounded; round the final answer to 4 decimal places if needed.
