Panel Measurement: Squared Diagonals and Datum Errors

Panel Measurement: Squared Diagonals and Datum Errors

Original quantitative learning practice in English. All 24 questions are included. Four supplied cases exercise six related calculation targets; they form one topic, not four separate tests. Every question includes the complete initial data. Use the stated model and retain intermediate precision. Choose one answer. Learning target: 20/24, not an official pass mark. This bank covers the calculation topic in its title; it is not a complete professional examination, design approval or operating instruction.

A nominal rectangular panel has width 330 mm and height 440 mm. A measured corner is displaced horizontally by 3 mm from its target x coordinate. For a true rectangle, diagonal squared equals width squared plus height squared. The measured diagonals are d1=550 mm and d2=554 mm. A drawing permits at most 2 mm difference between diagonals; this supplied rule alone does not prove all geometry correct. Calculate the nominal diagonal in mm. Keep intermediate values unrounded; round the final result to four decimal places if necessary.
